Martina works as a psychologist at OpenUp. In the sessions, she finds it important that you feel seen and heard. Her way of working is described as involved, open, and practical. Together with you, she will find out what is currently going on in your life, what you want to aim at, and what can be the first step towards change.

In the sessions, she focuses on raising your awareness, which also makes change possible. She does this through a combination of listening, asking questions and recognising patterns in your way of thinking and doing.

She mainly uses the CBT and the ACT method. CBT is a method that teaches you to look at situations in a different way and to deal with the things going on in your life with a different eye. By means of ACT you learn how to diminish the impact of painful thoughts and feelings and, at the same time, how to take action to build a meaningful life for yourself.

To take care of her own mental health, Martina loves meeting her loved ones. She also likes to read, listen to podcasts and watch movies. She clears her mind by working out in the gym and outdoors.

Martina obtained her Master’s degree in 2017 at Utrecht University and worked as a psychologist in general mental health care. Besides her work, she attended a CBT and an ACT training.

She provides sessions in Dutch.
