Clara Isabell Slawik
Clara is a psychologist at OpenUp. She is an empathetic listener and a caring psychologist who values an open and trustful relationship with her clients. With her calm nature she will support you in finding gratitude, even in difficult times.
Clara believes in the power of relational support and will help you in creating and maintaining healthy, fulfilling relationships.
While she loves living abroad, she can deeply relate to the challenges of being an expat. This made her develop the ability to connect with people from different cultures and made her passionate about supporting migrants‘ well-being.
After working in the occupational health sector, she dedicated her focus to mental health care. Besides working at OpenUp, Clara works at the clinical department of the Vrije Universiteit to support students’ mental wellbeing.
Clara believes in the power and practice of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
To take care of her own mental health, she keeps in regular contact with her family and friends to feel connected to her loved ones. Clara enjoys practicing yoga and cooking traditional chai tea to find relaxation.
Clara studied psychology in Germany, Spain, and the Netherlands and graduated from a Research Master in Social Psychology at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Clara speaks German and English.
