Vitality Check (ePMO)

Insight into vitality. Action where it counts.

A ten-minute check-in that gives employees a clear picture of their mental and physical well-being, and gives HR the signals to act at the right moment.

A smiling woman stands outdoors, and an overlay box displays Track your progress with options to track Stress and Relationships. Each option has a small related icon.

Employees get clarity, and a path forward

Every check-in gives your employees something useful: a clear picture of how they’re doing across themes such as stress, sleep, and workload, with three focus areas to work on.
Three illustrated people joyfully leap over rising bars above a card showing a plant icon, progress circle, and text: Getting there, with a suggestion to take small actions in self-directed learning and a link to an article about stress recovery.

Your PMO and PSA requirements, covered

The Dutch Labour Inspectorate has named psychosocial risk assessment an enforcement priority for 2026. New Arbowet requirements on PSA are expected to follow, asking Dutch employers to actively identify and address psychosocial risks. The Vitality Check covers both in one digital flow, so you don't need a separate ePMO.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Vitality Check?

The Vitality Check is OpenUp’s digital well-being scan designed to give employees fast, relevant insight into their well-being and clear next steps.

It is:

  • Short and accessible, completed in under 10 minutes
  • Focused on key well-being drivers, including psychosocial workload
  • Designed as a personal reflection moment, not an assessment
  • Delivering clear, AI-supported summaries with practical actions

It is included by default for all OpenUp users.

What is the ePMO (digital preventive health examination)?

ePMO (preventief medisch onderzoek) is a periodic, employer-facilitated digital preventive medical examination designed to assess and monitor employees’ physical and mental well-being before issues arise, supporting early intervention and sustainable employability.

Does the Vitality Check count as an ePMO under Dutch law?

Yes. The Vitality Check fulfils the periodic occupational health examination obligation under Article 18 of the Arbowet, covering both physical and psychosocial risk signals. It is also ready for the upcoming Arbowet changes on PSA.

Is a digital-only solution enough to satisfy the Labour Inspectorate?

For most organisations, yes. The Vitality Check covers the psychosocial and lifestyle signals required under the Arbowet digitally. For organisations with specific physical risk profiles identified in their RI&E, the on-site PMO add-on can complement the digital check with physical measurements and a doctor consultation on location.
