Adam Nemeth is a psychologist at OpenUp. Creating a safe, affirming counselling space through nurturing a compassionate approach towards yourself is going to be of great importance to Adam.

Adam uses techniques from ACT, CBT, Compassion Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy, trying to be mindful of adapting these to individuals’ diverse needs and identities. Cultural humility is a cornerstone of his practice.

He received his Master’s degree in Psychology in 2013 at the Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest and has since successfully finished a post-graduate training program in counselling psychology as well. He has worked for over 8 years at an outpatient clinic specialized in supporting individuals on the autism spectrum, giving him a unique understanding of the special needs of neurodiverse individuals. Currently works as a freelance psychologist. Besides he is actively involved in training other psychologists in affirmative practices when working with gender and sexual minorities.

To take care of his mental health he tries to lead a healthy, playful and active life, he enjoys climbing and hiking, and loves to play board games and video games. He tries his best to be kind to others and himself, even to his inner critic.

Adam speaks English and Hungarian.
